Visa Processing Time

Strictly do not finalize travel plans before receiving the visa applied for. All processing times below are average processing times. Please plan your travel accordingly.
VFS /Embassy of India would not be responsible for any inconvenience/problems faced as a result of finalizing travel plans before obtaining the visa.

Applicants are requested NOT to sending their documents by Post/Courier as we do not accept postal application. Postal applications will not be processed.

Average processing time varies as explained below. Please finalize your travel arrangements only after you obtain an appropriate visa. VFS / Embassy of India, Brussels will not be responsible for any inconvenience/problems faced as a result of finalizing travel plans before obtaining your appropriate visa.

Normal Applications
Most visas for Belgian/Luxemburg nationals and permanent residents of Belgium would be processed within 4 to 6 working days after submission of application. Non Belgian/Luxemburg Nationals with referral/Fax form may take 8 to 10 working days except as detailed below:

	Some Research, Student, Entry visa may take up to 8 weeks or more
	Nationals of Pakistan or any applicant (irrespective of current nationality) who previously held a Pakistan Nationality should confirm their travel only after obtaining a visa.

Processing time for UK applicant’s visa will take 4 to 5 weeks. Applicants are therefore advised to apply well in advance of the proposed date of travel to ensure that they get a visa in time.

Emergency Visa Service
Emergency visa applications must be submitted in person to the India Visa Application centre Brussels between 830 Hrs to 1100Hrs. Pickup for emergency applications is between 16.00hrs to 16:30hrs. Applications received after 1100 Hrs will have their visa application processed as Normal application and will take 4 to 6 working days (non - emergency cases).

Eligibility:
Emergency service is granted only in Emergency cases, it will be granted occasionally/ very rarely. The nature of emergency can be Hospitalization, Death of Close Family members. Emergency service is only available in India Visa application center Brussels & will not be accepted in Antwerp and Luxembourg.
A Fax Copy of the letter of Hospital from India will be needed stating the details of the emergency.
Emergency service is only granted to immediate family members/ Relatives.
Emergency service visa is only granted for 1 month with a single entry, Visa Fees is 43 Euro in addition to the normal visa fee.

Please note: The processing times for visas are estimates only. Non-Belgian nationals and Belgian nationals who require a reference have a processing time of minimum 6 to10 working days. These are based on information and experience of the Embassy of India, Brussels.

Applications Submitted in Antwerp and Luxembourg

Processing times for general applications submitted in Antwerp and Luxembourg will take minimum 8 to 10 working days plus transportation time from Brussels to Antwerp & Luxembourg centers. This may vary for Referral/Fax cases and visa categories where the processing time is longer.

The processing of your application is subject to the procedures and timescales of the Embassy of India, Brussels, over which we have no control.

VISA APPLYING
PROCESS

Step 1

Click, “All About Visas”. Confirm the visa type based on your reason for travel; do not make any confirmed bookings.

Step 2

After selecting the visa category in ”All About Visas”. Please Click on (Checklist and additional forms) to complete your online application form.

Step 3

If the application has been completed you must download & print all form/s, read and complete Checklist, Print Declaration form and sign it, Photocopy of Belgian/Luxemburg residence card to be attached with all applications, paste photos one on the front right corner of form and other on second page below the signature. Staple all documents together and bring in person to the India Visa application centre in Brussels, Antwerp or Luxemburg.

Step 4

Check fees payable, payment options and documents required. All such details can be found in the respective visa categories under the section. Please note, fee is calculated in this formula (Visa fee+ ICWF fee+ Service Charges= Total visa fee to be deposited by applicant).

Step 5

Sign form/s at all indicated places.

Step 6

Ensure photos are strictly as per specifications (50mmx50mm). Photo booth at Brussels has been installed to facilitate the applicants to take pictures at a normal price of 6 Euros.

Step 7

Check processing time to plan your travel accordingly.

Step 8

Attach all supporting documents required as per the Checklist. Make sure your application is complete. Incomplete applications cannot be accepted.

Step 9

Submit your Application along with the passport and required documents at any of our India Visa Application Centre in Brussels, Antwerp and Luxemburg (address of IVAC) by person to the respective officer.
