Visa Categories & Documents Required
(Applicant who wishes to apply for more than 06 month visa should submit a
photocopy of the passport, previous visa and all documents in order to seek
approval from the Embassy. This will take upto 05 working days and your request
for visa will be processed after approval. Embassy of India, Brussels may
request for additional documents and/or could call the applicant for an
interview also)

Tourist Visa: (New FAQ on
Tourist Visa)
A Tourist Visa is given to those visiting India for tourism or other
non-business related purposes Validity is upto 6 months. (for Indian Origin
applicants validity can be more than 06 months). The validity is non-extendable
and change of purpose is not allowed
For those going in a group (Other than Organised tour) - Visa is issued to a
group going to visit India for any excursion or camp or organization. Each
member of the group would be issued a visa on their respective passports.
Requirements for Group Visa

A list of all applicants with details of their names, name of Group leader,
passport & age.

An undertaking by the group leader for return from India by all the group
members.

No objection letter from parents of minors on a sheet of paper.
For tourist visa: There should be a gap of at least 2 months between two
visits to India on a Tourist Visa. In case of requirement to visit the country
within 2 months, permission should be sought from the Embassy of India
concerned indicating specific reasons for another visit within a short period.

Business Visa:
Business Visa is granted to a foreign national who wants to visit India to
establish an Industrial/Business venture or to explore possibilities to set up
industrial/business venture, or wants to purchase/sell industrial products in
India. A business visa with multiple entry facilities is granted for a period of
06 months or less, for more than 06 months pre approval is required from
Embassy of India Brussels. This visa is granted subject to following
conditions:

Those who want to visit India to establish industries/business venture or to
explore possibilities to set up industries/business venture in India.

Those who are coming to India to purchase/sell industrial products or
commercial products or consumer durables. |
| iii) |
Those who are coming for the technical meeting/discussions, attending board
meeting, general meeting for providing business service support. |
| iv) |
Those who are coming for recruitment of manpower. |
| v) |
Those who are partners in the business and/or functioning as directors in the
company. |
| vi) |
Those who are coming for consultation regarding exhibitions, for participation
in exhibitions, trade fair, business, fairs etc. |
| vii) |
Those who are coming to transact business with supplies/potential supplier at
locations in India, to evaluate or monitor quality, given specification, place
orders, negotiate further supplies etc, relating to goods or services procures
from India. |
| viii) |
Those who are experts/specialists on a visit of short duration in connection
with an ongoing project with the object of monitoring the progress of the work,
conducting meeting with the Indian customers and/or to provide some high level
technical guidance. |
| ix) |
Those who are coming for pre-sales or post-sales activity not amounting to
actual executing of any contract or project. |
| x) |
Foreign Trainees of multinational companies/corporate houses coming for
in-house training in the regional hubs of the concerned company located in
India. |

Employment Visa:
An Employment Visa is granted to those who are an employed by an Indian company
or a Multinational company in a specialized field at a senior supervisory/
managerial position or an employee working in the same organization is
transferred to a branch office in India.
Employment visa is granted to those desiring to come to India for the purpose
of employment, subject to following conditions:-

Those who are coming to India for execution of a project/contract (Irrespective
of the duration of the visit) |
| ii) |
Those who are coming to India on short visits to customer location to repair
any plant or machinery as part of warranty or annual maintenance contract. |
| iii) |
Those who are coming to India for installation and commissioning of
equipments/machines/tools in term of contract for supply of such
equipment/machine/tools. |
| iv) |
Those who are coming to India for imparting training for the personnel of the
Indian company. |
| v) |
Those who are coming to India deputed for providing technical support/services,
transfer of know-how, services supplies for which the Indian company pays
fees/royalty to the foreign company. |
| vi) |
Those who are coming to India as consultants on contract for whom the Indian
company pays a fixed remuneration,(may not be in the form of monthly salary) |
| vii) |
Those who are artists engaged to conduct regular performances for the duration
of the employment contract given by Hotel, Club, other organization. |
| viii) |
Those who are coming to India to take up employment as coaches. |
| ix) |
Those who are sportsmen who are given contract for a specified period by the
Indian Clubs/organizations. |
| x) |
Self-employed foreign national coming to India for providing engineering,
medical, accounting, legal or such other highly skilled services in their
capacity as independent consultants. |
Note: Applicants granted Employment Visa should register themselves with
the concerned FRRO within 14 days from date of arrival in India
Note: Please note that only applicant with Belgian or
Luxemburg passport are allowed to apply for the Employment Visa, as per the
directives from the Embassy of India, Brussels.
Non Belgian nationals can apply provided they are domiciled in Belgium for at
least two years.

Visas to Foreign Nationals Seeking to Work in Indian Media Organizations
Journalists or intern journalists who intend to travel to India to work in
Indian media organizations should apply for Employment 'E' visas.

Student / Research Visa:
Student/Research visas are given to bona fide students to pursue regular
studies at recognized institutions in India. The visa is multiple entries and
valid for the period of study or one year which ever is less.
For Research visa - Separate
clearance form to be filled and clearance from India is also
required.

Transit Visa:
A transit visa is granted for the sole purpose of enabling the holder to travel
through India to reach his/her ultimate destination. Change of purpose is not
allowed. The visa will ordinarily be valid for 03 months single/double. The
Transit visa is valid for direct transit only for a maximum period of 5 days
stay each way. For a stay in India beyond 5 days, an appropriate visa should be
obtained.

Entry Visa( X-Visa):
An Entry Visa is given to those of Indian origin visiting India for tourism or
other non-business related purposes. Members of the family of a person employed
in India or on Business Visa are also eligible for Entry visa. In the latter
case, documents establishing the employment of the spouse/parent along with a
copy of his/her Employment visa must be attached.
Sportsman/mountaineering/persons on scientific expeditions are granted entry
visa.

Note: Applicants granted Entry Visa should register themselves with the

Conference Visa:
Visas for international conferences, or on certain subjects, as decided by the
Government of India from time to time, can be issued only after clearance for
the said conference is received from the Government of India. For conference
Organised by private companies an invitation letter from the organization is a
must.

Journalist Visa/ Film Making:
Journalist visas are given to professional journalists and photographers for up
to three months' single entry. Journalists, Editors/Writers of Television
networks and Radio Stations traveling to India on work or vacation are required
to apply for visas along with a copy of their Media Accreditation Card and/or a
document from their organization describing clearly the nature of their work
and whether they are traveling on work. If Journalists are going as tourist,
they will be granted as "J" tourism Visa.

For Film Making an additional
Documentary Clearance Form is required in addition to Visa
application form.
Note: Except under specific reasons, all applications for Journalist
Visa are subject to prior approval from the Government of India.

Medical Visa:
A Medical visa is given to those who are traveling to India for medical
treatment. The visa can be single/multiple entry. Please note that relevant
letters/documents explaining details of the treatment, signed and stamped by
the concerned hospitals/doctors are required to validate the purpose of travel.
A medical attendance Visa is also given to the person escorting the applicant /
patient .

Transfer of Visa:
Transfer of Visa is allowed in case of change of passport or loss of passport.
For transferring visa from an old passport to a new passport, applicants are
required to submit the old passport which holds the valid Indian Visa and the
current valid passport. To transfer a visa, passport should have remaining
validity of at least six month (180 days), on the day you submit your
application. Please note that your visa can only be transferred from the
respective Embassy of India, where it was issued originally.

Children Endorsed on parents passports
There is no provision of Endorsement of children on Parent's Passport

A child will be treated as a separate applicant.

Visa fees will be charged similar to normal applicant.

In case child/children are not issued any passport/ travel document the visa
will be pasted on the parent's passport as separate visa(s).
